As first reported on the facebook page of Mayor John Higdon on Tuesday, October 7, the proposed data center in Matthews, has been officially withdrawn by the developer due to concerns from community members regarding its impact on the environment and traffic.

The project aimed to bring economic growth to the area but faced backlash from residents who feared increased noise and pollution.

The decision to withdraw the proposal was made after the town council requested additional information and data from the developer.

The company stated that they remain committed to future opportunities in the area.
